The latest hype in the MMA ring, hands down, belongs to Miami native Rene Martinez. The 35-yr old Cuban-American fighter is best known for his "street credibility" as the leader to the infamous street gang Latin Syndicates. With his debut MMA fight resulting in a big win, Martinez (better known to the world as Level 1219) is basically getting his positive image recognized as he continues to strive for a higher 'level' of stardom. Of course, just like any full-time hustler, you can't just have one specific thing going for you. Which is what brings me to writing this article. Read on to find out what this living legend has accumulated for us....

Being part of such an exclusive family brings different talent to the dinner table. This can only mean that your craft serves as a gateway for the people in your circle. For instance, Level is good at what he does, he puts his oppenents on the floor and raises his hands in victory. The same could be said about his fellow streetbrawler, Kimbo, who also puts people on their ass. Then comes along another type of industry that is very well common among the kind of population fighting attracts. I am talking about making good music, explaining the trials and tribulations of such people. Underground hip-hop king P-DOE has been on top of this, as he coaches Level on his sixteens. In case some of you do not know, Level is making his presence felt on the hip-hop genre as he working on launching his rap career. This new chapter in his world will depict the struggles he has been through. Things that I can tell you about in this article, but that wouldn't serve a purpose. As hearing it in rap, with vivid pictures being painted and true life being spoken, you can only use your imagination to see it in your head."Level has been a popular figure among the streets of Dade County for a very long time, but he was mainly known for his gangbanging and his clique, now he needs to tell those same people what he went through to get where he is at" says his long time friend and mentor (in the raps) P-DOE. Level's downfalls, as well as his accomplishments has earned him the right to a tell-all story about what he has seen and done. Negative aspects of life such as running with gangs, all out wars with rival gangs, gun fights, stabbings, prison time, and funeral attendances are just 1% of what Level has gone through. The other 49% is filled with stories untold that we would have to wait to hear through music. As for the other 50%, neither I nor he can tell you. He hasn't gone through it yet. What I can say, with P-DOE vouching for it, Level is going through a life change. He is turning his negative into a positive. He still remains true to his family, and he will always be there for his circle, but the shootouts and stabbings are a thing of the past. Which is why he is filling his plate with plenty of positives. His music will act as a scapegoat to the street life. His life experiences are something similar to what 2Pac claimed to have lived in his raps. "His raps are not something made up, a lot of rappers these days may see what's going on in the news and want to portray in in their music as something they are living, but reality is, they aren't living that life. Level don't live that life, anymore. It's behind him now, but he been through it. When one or two people say something about a person, it can be considered a lie, but when a whole crowd of people vouch for it, that's when you listen and pay attention", claims P-DOE, "it's hard to fib 10+ years of struggling, hustling, and street life".

The latest musical venture Level was featured on is the new song from P-DOE and Black Tha Hardaway titled "Be A Thug". The video is circulating youtube and worldstarlatino.com. With a strong team of supporters and not to mention all of Dade County on his side, Level has no room for errors, in and out the ring. It's going to be hard to ignore such talent coming from such a big camp. The transition from MMA fighting to putting his life on paper isn't going to be easy, but it is something that needs to be done. The motto says "there's a good book behind every man", in this case, the book on Level 1219 will come in the form of music. It will be something that everyone who can relate to tough times and rough patches will be able to listen to and feel.
