The legal conflict Don Omar had with Panama and the countries singer Nando Boom for a supposed plagirism has been finally resolved. The Puerto Rican singer says he is anxious about performing in the country once again.
"It was always my wish -since the beginning of this situation- that the right thing be done for the benefit of the music and the truth be told", said William Omar Landron, real name, in an e-mail sent on Monday to the Associated Press.
"After this huge misunderstanding gets resolved, I can't wait to return to Panama to enjoy a faithful crowd like the one I met 10 years ago", he added.

Last Friday Nando Boom announced that he has decided to remove the lawsuit pending for a violation of author rights against the Puerto Rican reggaeton artist, however, the lawsuit is still pending against Wisin and Yandel.

Nando Boom undertook legal process in April 2008 against Don Omar and Wisin and Yandel and three other people, including editing companies, for supposedly utilizing his song without his permission. The song being talked about is "My Space" and it was used on the "Enfermo de Amor" song.

A capital jury decided on a preliminary hearing scheduled to take place in March, and have requested Wisin and Yandel to appear before the Panamanian justice system.

Don Omar said that ever since he was a kid, Boom's music "inspired my life and opened doors for my music, which I enjoy today as a profession".
"The music from a lot of Panamanian artists during the 80's and 90's was a fundamental base in my appreciation for music I make today and who I am", he assured to the AP on Monday.
"Panama is my second home, it's here where I've enjoyed music from El General, El Profeta, El Nigga, Los Rabanes, Ruben Blades and many other whom I take their names highly throughout the country".

Nando Boom's representatives have been trying since 2007 to come to an agreement outside the system with Don Omar, it even came down to a proposition of 100.000 dolares to resolve the issue, but Boom's people felt it was insufficient.

"Since forever I have been a man with him and his team, I always thought he deserved the upmost respect", indicated Don omar.

He is now working hard with fellow rival Daddy Yankee.



Atrás quedó el conflicto legal que Don Omar tuvo en Panamá con el también cantante Nando Boom por un supuesto plagio. Ya resuelta la controversia, el puertorriqueño asegura estar ansioso de volver a cantar en el país.
“Siempre fue mi deseo -desde que esta situación salió a relucir- de que se hiciera lo correcto por el beneficio de la música y la búsqueda de la verdad”, dijo William Omar Landrón, su nombre de pila, en un correo electrónico enviado el lunes a la AP.
“Después de que este mal entendido ha sido aclarado por mi parte solo espero el día en que pueda regresar a Panamá a disfrutar de un público majestuoso como el que conozco ya hace 10 años”, agregó.

El viernes pasado Nando Boom anunció que decidió retirar una demanda por supuesta violación de derechos de autor contra el reggaetonero puertorriqueño, aunque mantuvo la acusación por el mismo cargo contra el dúo Wisin & Yandel.

Nando Boom emprendió el proceso legal en abril del 2008 contra Don Omar, Wisin & Yandel y otras tres personas, incluyendo las compañías editoras, por supuestamente haber utilizado sin autorización parte de su canción “Enfermo de amor” en el tema “My Space”.

Un juzgado capitalino programó una audiencia preliminar para mediados de marzo y dictó una solicitud de conducción a Wisin & Yandel para que comparezcan ante la justicia panameña.

Don Omar dijo que desde que era niño la música de Boom “inspiró mi vida y abrió paso a un mundo musical que hoy día disfruto como profesión”.
“La música de muchos artistas panameños en los años ’80 y ’90 fue base fundamental en mi apreciación por la música que hago y por la que hoy día soy quien soy”, aseguró a la AP el lunes. “Panamá es un segundo hogar para mí que he disfrutado de la música de El General, El Profeta, El Nigga, Los Rabanes, Rubén Blades y otros tantos más que han llevado el nombre de su país en alto”.

Los representantes de Nando Boom trataron desde 2007 de sellar un acuerdo fuera de la justicia con Don Omar, quien llegó en un momento a proponer el pago de 100.000 dólares para resolver el pleito, aunque la cifra les parecía insuficiente.

“Desde siempre fui un caballero con él y con su equipo de trabajo, pues para mí siempre ha merecido gran respeto”, indicó Don Omar.

El músico trabaja actualmente en un nuevo sencillo con su otrora rival Daddy Yankee.
